Sound system upgrades, more to come soon (May 2015)

In process is a full write with pictures detailing how to replace the now problematic Clarion head unit.
It will describe how to completely eliminate all the door speaker and sub woofer (if fitted) amplifiers.
Still using the existing wiring on the vehicle the process will detail how to connect a "High powered" HU and how to add filters and chokes to the speakers that the existing door amplifiers used to do.

Depending on the HU you purchase you will still have steering wheel button control but with medium market HU this is a feature that only comes on higher end units, the write up also includes details on how to fill in the steering radio control buttons if they are not able to be used due to HU limitations.

Info connecting up the existing sub woofer will also be included if required by installing a small 2 channel amplifier but this depends on the head unit you buy.

Installing tweeters and replacing door speakers.

Tweeters installed in rear most panels:
You would have to ask, whats the point. Well tweeters are all about clarity and they tend to do it very well by producing the higher frequencies of the sound wave.

AS detailed the finish is neat and effective and is seriously worth considering if you enjoy listening to music like I do.

Although there's ample space on the rear door panels (Cards to some) above the mid range speaker I opted instead for the rear most panels so as not to annoy passengers which tweeters can so easily do if not correctly positioned.

By placing them in the rear it has vastly improved overall sound quality no matter where you sit in the vehicle.
The tweeters installed are rated 150watt MTX's, cost next to nothing and are good quality.
Wiring is connected (soldered) to the midrange speaker, the one that's mounted to the door panel.
However it does get abit awkward working the wiring through the doors and back through the flexible rubber tube that harnesses the wiring, here simply popping the rubber off makes it alot easier.

Rear sub woofer (Located where the CD shuttle is)
By now the support surrounds would need replacing or quicker to just replace the woofer, choice is yours
